​​Record Numbers at the 2016 Arts Congress: Into the Future Wild
The 2016 Arts Congress marked 30 years for the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance. To celebrate, the Congress hosted over a hundred local, federal, and international artists, arts administrators, economists, researchers, and much more! Public Consultation Meetings: Saskatchewan Arts Board
The Saskatchewan Arts Board is holding eight public consultation meetings around the province so we can hear artists' concerns as part of our review of the Independent Artists program. Please RSVP to jgalasso@saskartsboard.ca with the session you want to attend.

Art Gallery of Regina Celebrates 40 Years
The Art Gallery of Regina will be holding its annual fundraising gala on Saturday, June 25th celebrating the Fine Art of Food. The theme this year is Ruby – the colour, the attitude, and to mark the AGR’s 40th anniversary. Some of Regina’s premier chefs will be presenting sensational culinary creations as they compete for the gallery’s annual Red Plate Awards. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door available at the Gallery or online at www.artgalleryofregina.ca.


SMPIA Announces New Executive Director
The Saskatchewan Media Production Industry Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Max Berdowski as its new Executive Director, and welcomes him to the position. SMPIA would like to thank its interim Executive Director, Ken Alecxe, for his dedication to the organization for the past 6 months. His wealth of experience with non-profit organizations and government helped guide the organization smoothly throughout this period.

Members and industry are invited to meet and welcome Max at the SMPIA/NFB Networking Event from 7:00-9:00pm, May 25th upstairs at Victoria’s Tavern in Regina. 


Mann Art Gallery Celebrates Fafard Acquisition 
In 2011 the Mann Art Gallery was presented with the opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind bronze sculpture by internationally-renowned artist, Joe Fafard. For the past five years, the Gallery has been diligently fundraising to add this piece to its Permanent Collection. We are pleased to announce that in early May 2016 it was installed. Situated across the entrance of the Gallery, the sculpture provides Prince Albert and surrounding area a remarkable piece of public art that significantly enhances this region’s visual culture.


Canada Council: New Chapter, a Special Creation Fund
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Confederation, The Canada Council  is proud to launch New Chapter to make this work possible and enable people to bring their ambitious work to Canadian and international audiences. With the renewed investment in arts and culture, the Council is looking to support projects that will inspire Canadian artists to envision the shared future of our community.
