How important are the visual arts in our society? I feel strongly that the visual arts are of vast and incalculable importance. Of course I could be prejudiced. I am a visual art.
Kermit the Frog
If we, citizens, do not support our artists, then we sacrifice our imagination on the altar of crude reality and we end up believing in nothing...
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
Man will begin to recover the moment he takes art as seriously as physics, chemistry or money.
The role of the artist is to ask questions, not answer them.
Our brains are organized by stories and images, not statistics.
Life is short, art is long...
Creativity is contagious, pass it on.
Art is not a mirror held up to reality, but a hammer with which to shape it.
Creativity takes courage.
We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents.
Kids: they dance before they learn there is anything that isn't music
William Edgar Stafford
If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud.
